may fires a year are caused by the abuse of fireworks?
That
statistic is difficult to calculate. Even though there are a number of
possible ignition sources - matches, cigarette butts, sparks from an outdoor
BBQ - many fires are attributed to fireworks because of the time of year.
But
I'm not here to talk about incidents in the past, I'm here to talk about
preventing incidents over the Fourth of July, 2000.
Remember,
Safety first. If Texans follow the directions printed on the label
and adhere to the common sense safety guidelines distributed by Texas Pyrotechnic
Association members, they're sure to have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of
